A note from Elia
Debora,
There are people you know for years and never really see. And then there are people who come into focus suddenly, like your eyes adjusting to a light that was always there, and you think: how did I miss this for so long?
That is what knowing you better has felt like.
I'll be honest with you. We moved through the same years without me fully seeing what was in front of me. And then something shifted, and I looked properly, and what I found was someone with a quiet, terrifying amount of capability living underneath a surface that the world hasn't fully caught up to yet.
But it will. I am certain of that.
I want to tell you something that I hope you carry with you: I see where you are going. Not in a vague, hopeful way, but in the way that comes from actually watching how you think, how you move, how you handle things. There is a businesswoman in you who is going to walk into rooms and change the temperature. There is a grace in you that is still finding its full shape. And there are capabilities in you that most people your age don't have and spend their whole lives reaching for.
You are not reaching. You already have it. You are just growing into it.
The world is going to meet you properly one day and feel the way I felt when I finally saw you clearly: like it should have been paying attention sooner.
I'm glad I started paying attention.
With love and genuine admiration,
Elia
